To the Officers and Members of the Knights of Nemesis,

Thank you all for allowing my Dad to be a part of this Krewe.  It truly was one of his life’s loves.  A lot of what he did revolved around Nemesis.

I know not everyone knew him that well.  Most knew his hard, ornery side.  When he was grumpy or complaining, I knew he was okay.  Some saw him at our different functions when he had so much fun.  The Luau was one of his favorite events of the year.  They won’t be the same for me not seeing him in his grass skirt and coconut bra.

My family had a great Christmas last month.  Although Dad was sick, his children and grandchildren were with him.  I feel blessed because I was able to tell him how proud I am of him in his fight against cancer.  I believe because he was so strong is why we had as much time with him as we did.  He was not alone in his fight.  He was at home with his family and he passed with little discomfort.

I hope we have a great parade this year.  My dad and everyone involved have worked hard to make Nemesis a big success in St. Bernard.

Please keep his memory alive.

Sincerely,

Jim Bennett
